Inspiring the Next Generation

VETUS has supported student sailing via their sponsorship of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen sailing team during the Race of the Classics.

The Race of the Classics is Europe’s largest student sailing event, where crews from universities across the Netherlands take to the water aboard historic ships. The competition challenges the next generation of sailors and plays a vital role in preserving the Dutch Sailing Fleet’s rich maritime heritage.

In addition to this, Excelsior’20’s youth football teams will proudly wear new kits featuring VETUS’s name. Supporting local sports teams aligns with the company’s passion for teamwork, growth, and community spirit.

This local initiative echoes the broader sports engagement of VETUS’s parent company, YANMAR, which recently deepened its long-standing relationship with Almere City FC through full acquisition. YANMAR’s rich sporting legacy also includes ownership of Japan’s Cerezo Osaka football club, a partnership that has been in place since 1957.

Showcasing Innovation at the Schiedam Business Festival

As part of Schiedam’s 750th anniversary celebrations, VETUS proudly joined fellow maritime leaders at the Business Festival on September 6th. Held alongside the Rotterdam World Port Days at Schiedam’s Wilhelminahaven, the event was a vibrant celebration of the region’s maritime heritage and future.

Visitors enjoyed hands-on experiences with marine technology, explored historic vessels, tested maritime tools, and even took part in a dive tank experience, highlighting how VETUS and its partners continue to shape the future of the industry.
