Current partners
MJSailing, Matt and Jessica, high school sweethearts in their early 40’s, who have been sailing the world and sharing their journey for the past nine years. Their videos capture the highs and lows, the triumphs and trials of life at sea. After circumnavigating the North Atlantic in their previous boat, Serendipity (a 1989 Sabre Targa 34), they spent two years completing a full refit of their new vessel, Elements of Life—a custom aluminum 37′ monohull. Their adventures took them to the Arctic, and in 2020, they sold Elements of Life to embark on their latest project: building a 42 ft catamaran.
Duca and Roberta, an adventurous Brazilian couple who took on the challenge of revitalizing a neglected 44ft steel sailboat, Dinieper Tropic 1200. After two years of dedicated refitting, they named her Odd and spent a year and a half sailing along the Brazilian coast. Their journey continued with a 13-day passage to the Caribbean, where they explored various islands for six months before unexpectedly receiving an offer to buy their boat. Embracing new adventures, they sold Odd and relocated to France to begin constructing a brand-new 43ft Aluminum Deck Saloon sailboat. Meta Chantier Naval will handle the aluminum components, while Duca and Roberta will manage the systems and interior work themselves. In the meantime, they have embarked on another exciting project: transforming a van into their tiny house on wheels.
Sailing Zatara:
We are thrilled to support this remarkable family who, after two decades in the corporate world, decided to make a bold change in the summer of 2016. Selling their home in Texas, they bought a sailboat and embarked on an extraordinary journey, despite never having sailed before. Now, seven years later, they have successfully circumnavigated the globe, sailed over 50,000 nautical miles, visited 50 countries, and experienced the joys and sorrows of life at sea, including saying goodbye to one crew member and gaining and losing a cat. Their children have been raised on the ocean, becoming remarkable individuals through their unique upbringing.
Sailing La Vagabonde:
We are proud sponsors of an extraordinary Australian couple Riley and Eleyna, and their two children, who have turned their dream of circumnavigating the globe by sailboat into a remarkable reality. Starting their journey with no prior sailing experience, they have each now sailed over 90,000 nautical miles across numerous oceans. Their inspiring videos not only document their incredible adventures but also encourage others to explore alternative lifestyles and promote ocean conservation. We support their mission to inspire and educate, fostering a deeper connection with our planet’s oceans.
Sander van Dijk – Tuindersvlet:
The preservation and modernization of Cornelis, a century-old tuindersvlet with a storied history in West-Friesland. Originally sailing around ‘Het Grootslag polder’, Cornelis transitioned from sail to diesel post-war. Five years ago, she underwent a full renovation, though her 50-year-old Italian diesel engine remains problematic.
Cornelis, a familiar sight in Avenhorn and throughout West-Friesland, is known for the charming plopping sounds of her old single-cylinder engine. While a new 2-cylinder Volvo Penta MB10A engine is ready, the decision has been made to go electric with VETUS, offering a cleaner, quieter experience.
New! SVDelos
As of recently VETUS started collaborating with SV Delos. The core crew of SV Delos—Brian from Arizona, Swede Karin, and their daughter Sierra—have become some of the top sailing YouTubers. Their success comes from their down-to-earth style, engaging personalities, and real look at both the fun and challenges of life at sea, all captured with awesome cinematography and drone shots. The crew has built a huge following with over 880k YouTube subscribers from around 640 videos since 2014, plus 225k Instagram followers, 146k Facebook followers, and a dedicated ”Inner Tribe” on Patreon.
Delos 2.0 is being designed from scratch. VETUS is delighted to partner with SV Delos and looks forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration.
