For our R&D department in Schiedam (the Netherlands), we are looking for a:

Project Engineer Electronics

VETUS is looking for an all-round electronics engineer that thrives in a creative surrounding while running a diversity of innovative projects for a unique international market. A flexible colleague (M/F) that can handle product development in the broad definition. At VETUS the responsible engineer handles the complete process of development from idea to market introduction including testing, validation and the (internal/external) handover to production. Improvement of current VETUS products is also part of the job description.

Within a passionate development team you’ll develop new concepts, work together with external development & production partners.

Tasks

  • Software and hardware development through all phases of a product for the pleasure marine market
  • Translating customer problems into product improvements for the existing product range
  • Defining and developing a project roadmap (administration, planning, monitoring and management)
  • Providing technical support to other departments (Sales/Service)
  • Guiding certification processes with external experts
  • Maintaining existing products

Requirements

  • HBO/WO/BS Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science (or comparable) with minimum 2 years of embedded system development experience.
  • Fluent in either English or Dutch language
  • Experience with Embedded systems development, design and testing of PCB’s with SMD components.
  • Experience with programming C, C++
  • Experience with CAN programming/debugging and electrical motor drives is a pre
  • Experience with software development on operating systems such as Linux is a pre
  • Affinity with maritime/automotive or related field is a pre
