VETUS, a global leader in innovative boat systems, is expanding its commitment to the local community with new and renewed partnerships that champion youth development, support local sports, and showcase the region\u2019s maritime future. From sponsoring sailing events to equipping young football players and joining Schiedam\u2019s 750th anniversary celebrations, the company is strengthening its role as both an industry innovator and community partner.<\/p>\n

Inspiring the Next Generation<\/strong><\/p>\n

VETUS has supported student sailing via their sponsorship of the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen sailing team during the Race of the Classics.<\/p>\n

The Race of the Classics is Europe\u2019s largest student sailing event, where crews from universities across the Netherlands take to the water aboard historic ships. The competition challenges the next generation of sailors and plays a vital role in preserving the Dutch Sailing Fleet\u2019s rich maritime heritage.<\/p>\n

In addition to this, Excelsior\u201920\u2019s youth football teams will proudly wear new kits featuring VETUS\u2019s name. Supporting local sports teams aligns with the company\u2019s passion for teamwork, growth, and community spirit.<\/p>\n

This local initiative echoes the broader sports engagement of VETUS\u2019s parent company, YANMAR, which recently deepened its long-standing relationship with Almere City FC through full acquisition. YANMAR\u2019s rich sporting legacy also includes ownership of Japan\u2019s Cerezo Osaka football club, a partnership that has been in place since 1957.<\/p>\n

Showcasing Innovation at the Schiedam Business Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of Schiedam\u2019s 750th anniversary celebrations, VETUS proudly joined fellow maritime leaders at the Business Festival on September 6th. Held alongside the Rotterdam World Port Days at Schiedam\u2019s Wilhelminahaven, the event was a vibrant celebration of the region\u2019s maritime heritage and future.<\/p>\n

Visitors enjoyed hands-on experiences with marine technology, explored historic vessels, tested maritime tools, and even took part in a dive tank experience, highlighting how VETUS and its partners continue to shape the future of the industry.<\/p>\n
